Organic dog grooming to us means doing everything we possibly can to promote health. Health in your dog, health in the environment, and health in you too. It also means bringing about change to the way we live our lives. As dog groomers, we'd like to help foster a sustainable way of doing things, and help other people to learn how as well.
So, we've started by making sure every shampoo, tooth paste, ear cleaner and spritz we use or sell, is made locally from the most organic, and natural ingredients available. We ensure these products are more than just not harmful - they are positively good for your dog, and you. They promote healing, are bio-degradable, are packaged in recycled and recyclable materials, and are even refillable at our salon. You may even decide you'd like to try our shampoo on your own hair... we love it on ours. Our exclusive Herbal Hound in-house brand of shampoos, calming balms, and spritzes. Made locally from certified organic ingredients, we are pleased to offer this wonderfully wholesome, organic line in our salon. We also carry other products that are sustainable and locally handmade.
The Herbal Hound collection is designed for individual coat and skin types, with emphasis on healing and creating optimal health. Shampoos, calming balms, and spritzes are made with organic essential oils, and lend aromatherapeutic benefits, but can also be just plain delicious. And if your dog has allergies, we offer an allergy free blend as well. One of our perennial favourites, is our Citronella, Lemongrass & Peppermint formula made especially for dogs who love the great outdoors, but not uninvited guests.
One of our core missions as a company is saving the planet, so we're very serious about sustainability. We make it a point to keep current with the latest in sustainable packaging, and make the most eco-friendly choices possible. All shampoos, calming balms, and spritzes are earth friendly and biodegrade in all water types, and will not harm wildlife, so you can take them camping without any worry. And, as with all things organic, no animal testing has been done in the creation of any of our products. We go a step further to ensure no animal testing has been done at any point in the production chain expect when when we use them on our own dogs.
The Urbanhound has made a promise to take the very best care of our planet that we can. As dog groomers, one of the ways we do that is by using shampoos, toothpaste, ear cleaner, and spritzes that do not harm the ecosystem when they get rinsed down the drain. They are completely bio-degradable as they make their way into our rivers, lakes and oceans. This also means, that when your outdoors with your dog, you can take him down to the lake, give him a good wash, and know that no fish or wildlife will be harmed.

We have a great selection of food choices, only the best in canine nutrition through grain free kibble, human grade raw and dehydrated foods. We have weeded out the “garbage” in the pet food industry by only selecting the one’s that meet our criteria for dog wellness. We also carry an assortment of nutritional supplements, natural treats free of chemical preservatives, corn, by-products and harmful additives. Free nutritional counselling is always available to prevent common health and skin issues in your hounds to one’s currently experiencing issues.
